St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Fredericksburg, Virginia is seeking a full-time Director of Youth Ministry. The candidate would be under the supervision of the Pastor and in charge of directing the overall ministry to teens in 7th12th grade, as well as the Youth Groupings model. The Youth Groupings model consists of various small groupings of youth ranging in ages 4 – 18 that gather around a particular affinity (i.e. sport, board games, baking, hiking, etc.). Adult(s) lead these groupings by providing short, focused faith formation and then participating in their affinity. The candidate would also execute administrative tasks, programing, and coordination of schedules, volunteers, spiritual and human formation, catechesis, and evangelization. The candidate would also be in charge of directing the following elements of Confirmation Formation: Retreat (currently using NET teams), Formation Nights (2 - 4 a year, apart from RE
classes), tracking the corporal and spiritual works of mercy that each candidate must perform, as well as paperwork necessary. The candidate would be assisted by a full-time Assistant Director of Youth Ministry in the execution of all of the above.
We are interested in a candidate that will not simply maintain the current program. We want someone that will take it to the next level. Creativity, passion and vision are a must for this position.
