All Franciscan Alumni are invited to join us for a reunion week in Austria, where we will celebrate thirty years of the Austrian study abroad program.  Whether you studied in Gaming for a semester, or didn’t have the opportunity, this trip gives a great chance to reminisce or experience Gaming for the first time.  Our week will include several Austrian highlights, including world class cities Salzburg and Vienna. Join Fr. Dave Pivonka, TOR and fellow alumni of Franciscan University as we journey through Salzburg, Vienna, the Danube River Valley, and the town of Gaming.

Highlights of this reunion:

• Leisure time in the Danube River ancient town of Dürnstein
• The mountain resort town and Marian Shrine of Mariazell
• Two days in Salzburg
• A Mozart concert in Salzburg
• Two days in Vienna
• Optional excursion to hike the Otscher
• And, of course, Gaming and the 14th-century Kartause Maria Thronus Iesu which houses our Austria program.

Details (tentative):

• We will pick up Alumni who arrive into Vienna International Airport by 10 AM on Thursday, July 1, 2021, and travel to Gaming where we will spend four days and four nights. In Gaming, we will take day excursions to the Danube River Valley, the town of Dürnstein, Mariazell, and nearby sites of interest. Evenings can be spent in the quaint town of Gaming, and touring the historical Kartause.
• We then leave Gaming for two days and two nights in Salzburg. Plan to enjoy time exploring Salzburg and a scheduled Mozart dinner and concert. Free time can be spent exploring the Salzburg Fortress, shopping, touring the Sound of Music sites, visiting one of their many historical churches, or simply sitting in an outdoor café!
• Leaving Salzburg, we continue on to Vienna, where we will spend two days and two nights exploring the rich heritage of the Austrian capitol city.  Shopping, museums, the magnificent Catholic Churches and traditions of the Hapsburg dynasty highlight the many things you can do to fill your time.
• Accommodations in Gaming will be at the Kartause Hotel.  Full private bathrooms in suite, linens and towels are provided, as well as daily maid service.
• This is a Land Only Package, which means that you are responsible for making the arrangements for your round-trip airfare. We ask that you email or call our dedicated contacts at our travel agent, Uniglobe, to book your travel. Transportation from Vienna International Airport to Gaming will be provided for those who arrive no later than 10 AM on Thursday, July 1, 2021. Those who arrive at a later time will be responsible for arranging their own transportation to the Gaming campus for the reunion. Extension of the trip is optional for your journey, though our formal program will end with breakfast the morning of Friday, July 9, 2021. You will need to make your own arrangements for transportation to the Vienna International Airport at the time of your departure either on Friday or later, should you choose to stay longer in Europe. 
• Included in the Land Only Package are hotel accommodations for eight nights, eight breakfasts (daily in each hotel), one lunch and three dinners, transportation when out on excursions with the group, bus from the Vienna airport to Gaming, admission to the various touring sites, and gratuities for above.

Pricing and Options:

• Cost: $1750.00 per person based on double occupancy (fully refundable if the trip is cancelled).
  
• Single Supplement for the week is an additional $475.00 per person.
